Williams Lake – Four more days of drop in lake levels – June 10, 2026.
Williams Lake levels will continue to drop to accommodate the installation of the temporary cofferdam on the lakebed. Over the next 4 days you will see the final stage of the drop. Here are some informative measurements.
Seasonal Lake Level: 17.79m

As part of the construction phases of the new dam on Williams Lake, the water level will be temporarily adjusted to accommodate the installation of the coffer dam. This is a non-permanent structure built in the lake in front of the old dam. Once installed the water will be pumped out of the area to create a dry workspace for crews and equipment to safely remove the old dam and build the new dam.
Lake levels will be lowered so that the temporary coffer dam remains stable throughout the project. Water levels will be monitored during the construction phases and adjusted as evaporation and rain events occur.
While lake waters will return to seasonal levels after the coffer dam is in place, water levels will remain drained in the work area. Completion of the new dam is projected for this fall, with restoration and replanting of the area scheduled for the spring of 2027.
As with any construction build of this complexity, conditions do change throughout the phases of this project. Adjustments may need to be made and will adhere to environmental standards and safety guidelines.
