In June of this year, HRM Planners submitted a draft of the Municipal Regional Plan<\/a> and asked for feedback<\/a> from the community. That consultation period was concluded on Oct 27, 2023.<\/p>\n

McIntosh Run Watershed Association<\/a> (MRWA) submitted\u00a0 comments to the planners on Oct 25, 2023.\u00a0 View post describing MRWA\u2019s feedback to the HRM Draft Plan on the\u00a0 MWRA website: HRM DRAFT REGIONAL PLAN: FEEDBACK AND LONG-TERM CONSERVATION AND TRAIL CONCEPTS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

As a large portion of the McIntosh Run Watershed lies outside of the Backlands, the comments\u00a0 apply to both to the Backlands and to areas outside of the ‘Backlands’ (as\u00a0 usually defined<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Outside of the Backlands,\u00a0 MWRA identifies areas for more housing,\u00a0 combined Greenspace\/Wildife\/Recreation corridors and a large Southern Watershed Conservation and Recreation Region on lands to the SW of Herring Cove Road.<\/p>\n
