The property is home to more than 40 species of breeding birds and other wildlife, and just a short trip by car, bus or bike from downtown.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Spend the day helping to preserve a beautiful park located right in Halifax! The Shaw Wilderness Park is frequented by many visitors every year and so it is important to keep it clean for all to enjoy.\u00a0 We will spend the day cleaning up debris from around the park. Please note: this will be a physically demanding task, and a moderate to high fitness level is required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">Pre-registration for this event is required and more information can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.ca\/e\/shaw-wilderness-park-cleanup-registration-377990338277\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><strong>Questions?<\/strong>\u00a0Please email Emma Willoughby, conservation engagement intern, at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:emma.willoughby@natureconservancy.ca\">emma.willoughby@natureconservancy.ca<\/a>\u00a0or call\u202f867-444-1424.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to bring:\u00a0<\/strong>Water, snacks, waterproof shoes, rain gear (just in case!), layers of clothing, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. NCC will provide all required tools and equipment, as a picnic lunch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trail difficulty:<\/strong>\u00a0moderate, trail is maintained and pretty flat.
