Come and help the WLCC and Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) remove invasive plant species along Lawson\u2019s Brook in the Shaw Wilderness Park from 9:30 AM-1:00 PM on August 1 (rain date August 2). See poster x for details.<\/p>\n

Participants are asked to pre-register with the NCC by contacting Mackenzie.Foster@NatureConservancy.ca.<\/p>\n

Current records on iNaturalist of Poison Ivy by Lawson’s Brook. View example post<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n

In addition to the unwelcome invasive species, Eastern Poison Ivy<\/a> (Toxicodendron radicans<\/em>) – a native species – also occurs along the brook.<\/p>\n

While it is most concentrated near Williams Lake (notably on or close to the dam), there are patches of it further down the Brook.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, steps taken to avoid contact<\/a> with Poison Ivy will also help to avoid ticks.<\/p>\n
